The actress is playing the role of a sprinter in the show. Talking more about her on-screen character she said, “I am playing the role of a sprinter, who wants to fulfil her father’s dream. Playing Kanak is both physically and mentally challenging for me. During the promo shoot, when I ran without shoes, I could actually feel the exhaustion a sprinter has to go through every single day.”

The actress is a trained dancer. She shared that dance has helped her stay physically fit and gain the flexibility required to play the character.

Shrabani, who is from a joint family, shared that her parents are always supportive of her career. She said, “I never thought of becoming an actress. But destiny had something else stored for me. One of my friend’s father saw me in

Rabindra Bharati University

and referred me to the director.”

Shrabani narrated her journey. Last year August, she lost her grandfather and while they were performing the rituals, she got a call from the production house. Shrabani said, “My grandfather did everything for my admission in the dance school. I still remember going to the dance school holding his hands. I lost him last year and on his Shraddha, I got the call from the production house. I informed them about the situation and apologized for not being able to meet them the next day.”

But when Shrabani’s father learned about the phone call, he took her to the production house in Kolkata. Shrabani said, “I can’t explain my feelings that day. My entire family was mourning after the loss, on the other hand, I got this opportunity. The timing was odd and I didn’t attend the audition too but my father took me to Kolkata. To my surprise, I bagged the role of Rakhi. I believe it is my grandfather’s blessing that I am here,” Shrabani went emotional as she walked down memory lane.
