Tollywood is abuzz with the latest controversy involving actor-turned-MLA Kanchan Mallick, his wife Pinky Banerjee and TV actress Sreemoyee Chattoraj. While the rumoured link-up between Kanchan and ‘Krishnakoli’ actress Sreemoyee was making quite some noise in the industry, Pinky filed a police complaint against them last week alleging harassment. Kanchan, who denied all the allegations, filed a counter-complaint against Pinky on the next day. Sreemoyee claimed Kanchan is just a senior to her and threatened to take legal action. Having films, hit TV shows in his kitty, and female admirers by his side, Vikram’s career was going high when the actor landed in controversy. He was arrested in connection to an alleged car crash that caused Sonika Chauhan’s tragic death in 2017. Vikram was behind the wheels and rushed to the hospital in an injured state. According to police sources, Vikram’s car exceeded speed limit and the actor was reportedly inebriated. However, the actor denied all the charges. Three months later, he was arrested and granted bail after 18 days of judicial custody. He moved the Calcutta High Court to drop his name from the charge sheet in 2019. But the High Court turned down his appeal and paved the way for the session’s court to begin the trial. Last year, charges were framed against the actor and the case is still Sub judice. Actor Joy Mukherjee, who has done a number of Bengali films and TV serials, was in the news for his alleged anger management issues in the past. The actor allegedly beat up his ‘Jion Kathi’ co-star Aindrila Sharma on the sets of their shoot. After the incident, Aindrila reportedly denied working with him and he was replaced by actor Somraj Maity. According to industry sources, he was blacklisted for quite some time and is awaiting a comeback with TV show ‘Bikram Betal’.
