is all set to hit the television screen. According to industry sources, a leading Bengali television channel will soon launch the horror show ‘

Nishir Daak

’.

Giving a break to all the saas-bahu dramas, the show is expected to bring back the chills with its engaging suspense drama.

Interestingly, another leading Bengali General Entertainment Channel (GEC) recently started airing the dubbed version of ‘Qayamat Ki Raat’ with the new title ‘Nishi Raater Haatchani’ on the weekends. The show features Vivek Dahiya, Karishma Tanna and Saurish Singh Athwal in the leads.

However, the upcoming show ‘Nishir Daak’ will be based on horror stories.

Presently, the small screen is dominated by period-dramas and mythological shows. Period dramas like ‘

Rani Rashmoni

’, ‘Jagat Janani Maa Sarada’are quite popular. On the other hand, mythological serials are also well accepted by the viewers. Giving that trend a break, it will be interesting to see how original horror shows will fare on the TRP charts.
