‘Parineeta’ to premiere on November 11; Which Bengali serial to go off-air for the new show?

One of the leading channels on Bengali television is gearing up to add a new mega serial to its daily roster. The new Bengali TV show ‘Parineeta’, whose promo has already created some buzz, is set to premiere on November 11. The Uday Pratap Singh starrer serial is slated to go on-air at the slot of 7 pm, which is the current slot of ‘Jagaddhatri’. Is ‘Jagaddhatri’ going off-air then?

After announcing the new TV show ‘Parineeta’ starring Uday Pratap Singh, Ishani Chatterjee and Surabhi Mallick, the said channel released the promo of the upcoming show. However, the slot of the new show was yet to be declared. As the premiere of ‘Parineeta’ approached, it’s been reported that the new show will go on-air from 7 pm, which is the existing slot of ‘Jagaddhatri’. However, there is yet to be any official announcement from the channel authority regarding the discontinuation of the Ankita Mallick and Soumyadeep Mukherjee starrer mega serial.

Naturally, the question arises – if not ‘Jagaddhatri’, then which show will be concluded to make way for ‘Parineeta’? There has been a buzz about ‘Neem Phooler Madhu’ reaching a conclusion. In that case, there might be a shuffle in the current roster and some serials’ slots might be tweaked. However, the channel is yet to issue a statement regarding the conclusion of Rubel Das and Pallavi Sharma starrer mega serial yet, if that is happening at all.

On the other hand, ‘Parineeta’, despite its name, does not seem to bear any resemblance to the legendary work in Bengali literature by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay with the same name.

‘Parineeta’ stars Uday Pratap Singh as the male lead of the show. Surabhi Mallick will be seen as Shireen, and newcomer Ishani Chatterjee will take on the role of Parul. The show is slated to go on-air on November 11, 7 pm.
