Popular TV channel to air Ranjit Mallick starrer films as a tribute to the veteran actor

Ranjit Mallick is one of the most popular actors of Bengali cinema. The veteran actor has worked with stalwarts like Satyajit Ray (Shakha Proshakha), Mrinal Sen (Interview), Prabhat Roy and many others. His performance in the debut movie ‘Interview’ fetched him Best Actor Award in Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Remembering the 76-year-old acclaimed actor’s contribution to the Bengali cinema, a popular television channel will air his films on May 14. A few of his popular movies including ‘Manush Amanush’, ‘Mukhyamantri’, ‘Nawab’, ‘Debota’, will be aired by the channel.

The versatile actor won the viewers’ hearts with his charming personality and power-packed performance on the silver screen. Ranjit dominated the silver screen as a romantic hero for a long time. Bengali audiences witnessed him in a different avatar in the movies like ‘Mouchak’, which also starred Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, ‘Raag Anuraag’, ‘Debi Chowdhurani’, ‘Kabita’, ‘Aparajita’ and others. Ranjit is one of those finest actors who earned praises for his performance in critically acclaimed movies and turned out to be a commercially hit actor, too.

Besides this, the channel is also set to air some other movies this week, including ‘Amader Sansar’ (starring Firdous, Rituparna Sengupta, Abhishek Chatterjee, Sreelekha Mitra, Victor Banerjee, Ranjit Mallick, Deepankar De), ‘Chore Chore Mastuto Bhai’ (starring Mithun Chakraborty, Chiranjit Chakraborty, Jishu Sengupta, Koel Mallick, ‘Hercules’, ‘Charmurti’.

Meanwhile, other popular Bengali channels are also gearing up with their offerings. Daily soaps ‘Khorkuto’, ‘Gangaram’, ‘Boron’ are set to air some entertaining episodes to hook the audience to the TV screen. The same channel is set to spice up the weekend with dance reality show ‘Dance Dance Junior Season 2’ starring Mithun Chakraborty, Dev and Monami. On the other hand, another rival channel will spice up the entertainment quotient of the TV viewers with its special episodes of ‘Didi No. 1’ and ‘Rannaghar’ this weekend.
