Actor Jisshu U Sengupta-hosted reality show Super Singer Season 3 will air special episodes this week. Ahead of Kali Puja and Diwali, the television show will set the festive mood with some soulful music. The atmosphere will get a magical touch with singer Kumar Sanu’s spectacular performance.

The Bollywood singer, who is gracing the show alongside Sonu Nigam and

Koushiki Chakraborty

, will be seen singing the famous Shyama Sangeet ‘

Amar Sadh Na Mitilo

’, composed by

Kamalakanta Bhattacharya

. It was originally sung by legendary singer

Pannalal Bhattacharya

. Later, many other singers including Kumar Sanu, sang the song in devotional music albums or shows. There would be hardly any Kali Puja pandal in Bengal, where the song isn’t played during the festival. But listening to the song from Kumar Sanu himself, that, too, on Bengali television, certainly makes the moment even more special.

During the shooting of the soon-to-be-aired episode, judges Sonu and

Koushiki

were overwhelmed by Kumar Sonu’s rendition. They heaped praises on the singer, who has given several hit songs to the Indian film industry across languages. Kumar Sanu, too, shared his experience later.

The upcoming episodes, which will be aired this weekend, promises to be a musical treat for the audience. Besides Kumar Sanu, the participants will also perform devotional songs.

‘Super Singer’ is currently having a successful run on Bengali television. The previous two seasons, including the first one featuring kids as the participants, have received good feedback. Singers Koushiki and Kumar Sanu have been a part of this show earlier. Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam joined the team this season.
