Sonu Nigam, who is in Kolkata for the shoot of the upcoming reality show ‘Super Singer Season 3’, paid a visit to
Dakshineswar Kali temple
on Sunday evening. He offered puja too.
Earlier on Sunday,
Sonu
expressed his wish to the temple committee about the visit. The committee made all necessary arrangements following the COVID-19 protocol.
Interestingly, yet another celebrity went to Dakshineswar Kali temple on Sunday.
Actress Kajal Agarwal
and her husband paid a visit to the temple and offered puja.
Sonu, who loves the city, has always been vocal about his connection to the state. Earlier on Friday, he said, "My bond with Bengal goes back to 1993. I have been in this city several times. I share a special connection."
Interestingly, Sonu is known as ‘Kolkatar Jamai’. Hinting at his wife
Madhurima who is a Bengali, Sonu jokingly said, “Aur toh abhi meri zindegi toh Bengalio se bhari pari hain (now my life is full of Bengali people).” Speaking more about the state and its rich cultural heritage Sonu added, “The soil is culturally enriched be it literature, music, art or any other field.”
He will be a part of this season’s ‘Super Singer’ as a judge alongside
Kumar Sanu and
Kaushiki Chakraborty
. The shoot has already started. Actor
Jisshu U Sengupta
will host the singing reality show just like the previous season.
Meanwhile, yet another reality show ‘Dance Dance Junior Season 2’, is inching towards its finale. ‘Super Singer Season 3’ is likely to replace the time slot.
