Lisa Kudrow, the late Friends actor Matthew Perry's co-star, has finally spoken out about his untimely death at the age of 54. Perry was found unconscious in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, October 28.
According to the Daily Mail, Mathew's death has left him "baffled," and she is considering taking in his pet dog Alfred. "Lisa and [the] cast will all be attending his services," the outlet said. "This does not seem real or fair to her or the rest of the gang, because Matthew was finally at peace with himself and having the best year of his life since the release of his book almost exactly one year ago." "He was having a good time," it continued.
The Friends cast also speculated that he may have taken some prescription medication that was not safe to take before stepping into hot water. “The cast is reeling from the loss of their brother because that's what Matty was - their brother. It's just devastating,” as per PageSix.
Showrunners Marta Kauffman, David Crane, and Kevin Bright, who are "deeply saddened," issued a joint statement saying, "We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment - not just to his work, but in life as well." We express our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. This is the one where our hearts have been broken."
Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice alongside Perry's Chandler Bing on the comedy show, talked about her feelings after Perry's sudden passing. On Instagram, she posted a photo of Janice and Chandler with the note, “What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too-short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”
