Ice-T responds to a fan who claims law and order: SVU goes 'Woke': 'Like I Give an F---'

Ice-T has responded to recent claims about the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit stories.

On August 27, the rapper-turned-actor, 66, answered to a fan who complained that the long-running police procedural had gotten too "woke" in recent seasons on X (previously Twitter).

While replying to a snapshot Ice-T uploaded on set, the fan enquired, "Did they write 'SVU' back to normal yet?" It began to go woke," to which he answered, "What the F is woke?" Lol. "Like I give an f---."
Ice-T has been on Law & Order: SVU since 2000, as Sergeant Odafin "Fin" Tutuola, the show's second longest-running character, after only Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay).

During a January interview, the "Colors" rapper described the NBC show as "special" and revealed that he had actually "hit the jackpot" with his appearance.

"I think SVU is a special show because it's the first time I've ever done something where people walk up in the street and say thank you," he told me. "And I discovered that SVU is as much entertainment as it is therapeutic for a lot of women because many of the women who watch the program are survivors — and so are the males. So it has a distinct feel than regular entertainment."



Though he only agreed to do a few episodes, Ice-T quipped that the series became "a four-episode stint that ended up 25 years."

In March, NBC announced that it would renew Law & Order: SVU for a record-breaking 26th season.

The show, which now stars Hargitay, Ice-T, Peter Scanavino, and Octavio Pisano, previously held the record for the longest-running primetime live-action series in history, and it will retain that honour with the renewal.
