I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! All-Stars future hinted at after one of the most intense finales in the show’s history
I'm a Celebrity...South Africa will not be returning to screens anytime soon after its finale, which turned out to be one of the most chaotic reality TV episodes in recent years.
The pre-recorded ITV show features former contestants from the long-running reality series. The series first aired in 2023. Myleene Klass, who was part of the 2006 season, won the title of Queen of the Jungle. The show made a comeback after a three-year gap and performed well in ratings. However, the makers currently have no plans to bring it back anytime soon.
According to a report in The Sun, the show will broadcast another all-stars version of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2029. Meanwhile, the regular season will return this November with a new set of contestants, as usual. The makers will be hoping for a non-controversial and smooth experience after the tense final of I'm a Celebrity...South Africa, which brought the contestants back together eight months after it was shot.
Hosts Ant and Dec had no choice but to intervene and take sides after being interrupted several times by Jimmy Bullard and David Haye. They questioned ITV about editing a fight Bullard had with Adam Thomas.
The furore surrounding Bullard’s argument with Thomas arrived after the former decided to quit the show despite the fact his decision would have sent Thomas home as well. In scenes shot eight months ago, Thomas was infuriated by the move and angrily confronted his campmate, with the fallout spilling into the live final last Friday (24 April).
The controversy around Jimmy Bullard’s argument with Adam Thomas began after Bullard chose to quit the show, even though it meant Thomas would also be sent home. In scenes shot eight months ago, Thomas was upset by the decision and confronted his campmate. The tension later carried into the live finale last Friday (April 24).
As per the report, About 2.8 million viewers watched the stars reunite on screen.
Speaking about the expected three-year gap before a new all-stars season, a source told The Sun, "The aim was never for it to be made or be on air in 2027, even though there may be an appetite for that right now. The aim was to deliver something as a special show that was on from time to time, not an annual revisit like the main I’m a Celebrity show.”
In the finale, Jimmy Bullard was seen repeatedly accusing Adam Thomas of being “abusive, aggressive and intimidating.” He also claimed that ITV did not show Thomas’s alleged use of offensive language in the broadcast.
