In a new interview with Extra ahead of Sister Wives' 19th season, the stars said they wish Kody — who has 18 children with Janelle, Christine, his ex-wife Meri Brown, and his current wife Robyn Brown — would repair the "burnt bridge" that exists between him and his children.

Despite the fact that their marriages to Kody have ended, both ladies "wish him well," according to an interview released Friday, Oct. 11. Kody and Christine declared their breakup in 2021, while he and Janelle confirmed their separation in 2022.
Christine, now married to David Woolley, told the newspaper, "I wish he had a relationship with his kids." She continued, "I'm devastated for him because his children are some of the best people I know. His children are amazing people, and I adore having them in my life."

Janelle said that the children are "the glue" of the family. "I feel like we're sort of in orbit around these kids," she told me.

Christine, who was "spiritually married" to Kody for 25 years, pushed back, claiming she and Janelle are the group's genuine "glue". "I believe it's us. "You and I are the glue because we decided to continue being 'Sister Wives' after our respective breakups with Kody," she continued.

Meanwhile, Janelle remained sure that it was the children.

"Maybe," she told Christine. "Come on, the kids; they have a secret text messaging thread that Christine and I are not a part of. The text is crucial. They all talk, and we don't know what's going on.

Regardless of who the true "glue" of the Sister Wives cast is, Christine told Extra she wishes Kody would interact with his children more often, noting that she told her children, "Look, when your dad phones, you need to pick it up and talk to him because he's a person and he is your father. "You have to respect that."
However, Janelle acknowledged that Kody bears the majority of the burden for making the call. "There's such a burnt bridge," she told the publication. "I think it could be reconciled but it would take a lot of work, and I really feel like the burden of that work sits with Kody."

Christine and Kody have six children: daughters Aspyn (28), Mykelti (27), Gwendlyn (22), Ysabel (20), Truely (13) and son Paedon (25).

Janelle and Kody had six children together: girls Madison and Savanah, and sons Logan, Hunter, Gabriel, and Garrison, who died by apparent suicide in March 2024 at the age of 25.

Janelle told Extra that the last time she saw Kody was after Garrison's death, and that given the circumstances, "Of course I was interacting with him more.

In terms of the family's reaction to Garrison's death, Janelle stated that "everybody is in a pretty good space."

"I believe that actually made us closer. "We're really checking in on each other now," she explained. "We're asking about mental health today and waiting for a serious answer. We don't just shrug it off."
