​ Yamini Malhotra: Acting has always been my passion, but I never really knew that it would turn into a profession

Actress Yamini Malhotra is a dentist turned actor. She started her acting journey with Punjabi films like Chuttalabbayi and Main Teri Tu Mera after which she was part of the TV show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.

Now she has bagged a Bollywood film and talking about it she says, "I am in a truly ecstatic state right now because we’ve just started shooting for Chill Maar Na Bro which is directed by Tejas Dattani. It is my first-ever Bollywood project and a dream come true moment for me. I will be playing Maya in the film and I feel like I am made for such roles."

Was bagging your first film tough? She says, "Getting my first film wasn't tough because the director spotted me in Bigg Boss and reached out to me. He felt I was perfect for this role. The reality show gave me a platform to showcase my personality which helped land me my first Hindi film. I believe each platform offers something unique. TV has a deep connection with the audience, OTT allows unique storytelling, and films have their own magic. I don’t want to limit myself and want to be part of great stories, no matter the medium."

The actress adds, "Acting has always been my passion, but I never really knew that it would turn into a profession. Sometimes, life leads you to places you never planned, but they turn out to be exactly where you belong—and for me, that place is in front of the camera."
