15 days since Sidharth Shukla’s demise: Shehnaaz Gill’s heart-broken state to Asim-Paras’ reunion, things that happened after the actor’s shocking death

Sidharth Shukla breathed his last on September 2. The actor passed away after suffering a heart attack. Reports suggest that he complained of uneasiness post-midnight before sleeping. However, he slept to not wake up and was declared dead after he was taken to the hospital.

The last rites of the Bigg Boss 13 winner were performed at the Oshiwara Crematorium on September 3. His family, close friend Shehnaaz Gill and various celebrities from the television industry reached the crematorium to pay their last respects.

It has been 15 days since the actor left the mortal world. There’s a lot that has happened post his sudden and shocking untimely demise. The news of his demise came as shock for everyone but the moments that followed broke hearts and left the nation in a daze. Let’s take a look at a few things that took place after Sidharth’s demise:

Shehnaaz Gill, who was very close to Sid and had confessed her love for him, was in an inconsolable state. She couldn’t stop crying and reached the crematorium in a terrible state. She was spotted screaming his name and running towards the ambulance that had Sidharth’s mortal remains. Shehnaaz was present during his last rites and even performed a special puja. Several pictures of the actress from the crematorium did rounds on the internet. She stood beside his body with folded hands, lying on the floor as she grieved his death. A few reports also said that Shehnaaz fainted twice during the last rites.

Sidharth Shukla’s mother Rita Shukla also reached the crematorium with his sisters and other family members. She was spotted entering the crematorium and then leaving after his last rites were performed. As she left the place, she joined hands in front of the media. However, she stood like a strong lady throughout.

Asim Riaz, who shared a bitter-sweet relationship with Sidharth ever since Bigg Boss 13, was the first person to reach Cooper Hospital after he learnt about Sid's untimely death. He stood with the family until the rituals were completed. A picture of the actor sitting on the stairs of the crematorium, drenched in rain went viral. And it left many of their fans heartbroken. Asim also shared a series of posts to bid adieu to his friend on social media.

Several reports about Shehnaaz Gill not being able to cope up with Sidharth’s demise came out. Earlier on the day of his death, Shehnaaz’ father shared with ETimes TV that she couldn’t stop crying and was in a terrible state. Later, singer and former Bigg Boss contestant Jasleen Matharu, who visited Shehnaaz shared, “I met Shehnaaz also and she was completely blank. She kept staring and looked pale. The chirpy, fun loving Shehnaaz was sitting quietly with a completely blank look on her face. She was continuously staring at one place and I shook her up and tried to talk to her. She asked me to sit. I sat beside her and it was heartbreaking to see her this way. She was sitting quiet and kept nodding her head in denial. 'Aisa lag raha tha jaise usse kuch yaad aa jata tha aur woh sarr nod karne lag jaati jaise flashes aate hain waise ek dum. I asked her to eat something and sleep for sometime.”

Reports about Sidharth and Shehnaaz’s wedding surfaced on the internet two days after his shocking demise. The duo was planning to get married in December 2021. As per the reports, both of them were already engaged and were had already started preparing for their wedding festivities. “They had informed their families who were deep into preparations. Not just this, they were also in talks with a plush Mumbai hotel to book rooms, banquet and other services for the wedding festivities which were planned for a period of three days. The two actors, their friends, and families had kept this a closely guarded secret,” said an online portal’s report.

Sambhavana Seth was one of the celebs who reached the crematorium but were not allowed to enter because of the COVID-19 protocols. However, she got into a fight with the cops at the entrance. Later, everyone saw a vlog based on Sidharth’s death posted on her YouTube handle. Everyone including celebrities and internet users slammed Sambhavana for the same.

Gauahar Khan, who had developed a good friendship with Sidharth during their time in Bigg Boss 14, slammed the celebrities who were sharing details about the late actor's grieving family in interviews. She took to Twitter and wrote, “Any one who has met a grieving family, should not give out details. Really sad to see people giving interviews about family members and sharing details. Stop! Please stop! If you have gone to pay your respect don’t come out and become a khabri (informer) and add to the low standard of journalism.”

However, she was also trolled for posting a happy picture on the day of his demise.

Hina Khan also became friends with Sidharth during Bigg Boss 14. The actress, who didn’t speak up until a day after his demise, finally shared a long note talking about the late actor. She shared pictures with him and wrote, “After the past experiences of eternal loss. I am scared shaken and disturbed by the heartbreaking news of my dear friends passing. I am a lil unwell and not in a right frame of mind and still coping to this news just like all of you out there. #RIPHero #SidharthShuklaTheShiningStar.”

It was not just his family, friends and celebrities who were not able to come to terms with his untimely demise. A fan of Sidharth and Shehnaaz also slipped into a partial coma after hearing the news of his death. A doctor Tweeted about the fan’s condition and shared that it was because of excessive stress and trauma that she was in a bad state.

Four days after his demise, Sidharth’s family issued a statement and requested everyone to respect their privacy and let them grieve in peace. The statement read, “Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of Sidharth's journey and showered him with unconditional love. It definitely doesn't end here as he now resides in our hearts forever! Sidharth valued his privacy, hence we request you to allow our family the privacy to grieve. A special Thank You to the Mumbai Police force for their sensitivity and compassion. They have been like a shield, protecting us and standing by us every minute of the day! Sidharth and Shehnaaz were lovingly called SidNaaz by their fans. Soon after Sidharth’s demise several video clips and pictures of them did rounds on social media. Fans couldn’t get over watching their happy moments during and after Bigg Boss 13. It can be undoubtedly said that SidNaaz videos are still trending on social media.

Paras and Asim, who couldn’t come to cordial terms during their Biggboss 13 journey realised the uncertainty of life with Sidharth’s sudden demise. The actor’s death changed their hatred for each other and they decided to be friends. In an interview with BT, Paras shared, “It was as if Sidharth reunited us from up there. We have learnt a big lesson from his loss and the lesson is that life is really short to keep grudges with one another and not talk to each other.”
