Actor Anuj Sachdeva shares a shocking incident of being attacked by a stranger in Mumbai; says, “It’s attempt to murder”
Actor Anuj Sachdeva recently shared a horrid experience in a podcast with Chhavi Hussein. He opened up about a recent incident that he encountered and that left him deeply shocked. Anuj shared how he went for a walk with a friend and was attacked by a random man.Talking about the incident, he said, “On 14th December, I went out to walk my dog at night along with a friend of mine. While we were walking, I saw a car parked at the side and I thought I’ll take a picture and put it in the group. Meanwhile, a guy came to talk to me and started to charge at me.”Anuj then said, “When the guy started shouting at me, my dog naturally went ahead to protect me and then he started to hit my dog. If a guy is alone, he can fight back, but if he’s with his dog or a female friend or someone, his first instinct would be to protect them. In the video that I’ve shared, you can hear my friend calling the watchman.”Chhavi responded by saying, “The watchmen of the society should have some authority to deal with such kind of situation.” Anuj further said, “In the court, when you hit someone, the intent matters. If the guy tried to hit you at your head, then he’s trying to kill you.
It is attempt to murder, it is attempt to murder. After this, I went to the police station to complain about the same. When I was at the police station, a policeman from another station came and tried to manipulate my FIR. The guy who attacked me started to threaten me at the police station, saying that 2026 will be my last year. I had a lot of expectation from the Mumbai police.” While sharing the video on social media, he wrote, “If a small concern like a car wrongly parked in your own society can put you at a risk of life, are we really safe? Is it right to retaliate if someone hits you, or it is advisable to get beaten? Should you live in fear of another person, always being mindful that they could be rowdy or aggressive, or do you have the right to speak your mind? These are some of the questions that the recent violent issue with @apnanuj gave rise to. Joining in the conversation is @sudhirkudalkar, a senior police inspector and the founder of @palfoundation.in.”
