Akanksha Chamola opens up to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in viral video; says “I feel guilty for being happy”
Akanksha Chamola, who is often targeted by trolls on social media because of her cheerful and bubbly personality, recently opened up about dealing with online trolling and judgements. A video of Akanksha at Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s satsang has gone viral on social media, where the actress asks about people's opinions regarding her cheerful nature.
In the viral video, Akanksha Chamola, wife of Gaurav Khanna, is seen speaking about how people judge her cheerful and positive personality. She asks, “Jai Shri Ram Guruji. My name is Akanksha Chamola. I am from Mumbai. In our industry, whatever we do, people quickly judge us publicly. I am guilty of being too happy, too bubbly. In your sessions, you always talk about smiling, staying happy, and laughing through life."
She further asked that many people get uncomfortable or irritated because of her cheerful nature. Akanksha, who has been part of shows like Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Cime Patrol and Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gayi shared, "But when I behave like this, people seem to get bothered by it. They question why I am always happy, dancing, and enjoying life. So, I don’t understand whether being sad has now become a trend? Does this mean I should behave seriously and maturely everywhere so that people accept me?"
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar replied to her question, “Whether they accept you or not, why should it matter to us?" To this, she responded, “Honestly, it doesn’t matter to me anyway." He added, “It does matter a little, doesn’t it? Stay joyful in your own way. There’s that song, ‘Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna." Akanksha replied, “Guruji, this is exactly what I wanted to hear from you."
He further explained to her, “See, many times people are unable to understand our happiness. So what should we do? We should show our happiness to them in a slightly controlled way. There’s no need to show all of it."
Akanksha Chamola is married to Bigg Boss 19 winner and Anupamaa fame Gaurav Khanna. During Gaurav's stint in Bigg Boss 19, the actress entered the show and the couple went viral for their romantic moments. Viewers loved their bond and honesty.
