Akshaya Hindalkar on Pushpa Impossible: Karuna Pandey ma’am is the spine of the show and she helped me feel supported and connected
Pushpa Impossible has been successfully entertaining fans with its relatable characters and powerful performances. The show which revolves around the life of Pushpa played by Karuna Pandey is shown facing life’s ups and downs with strong determination. She always puts her family first and her daughter Rashi (Akshaya Hindalkar) also is known for her sensitivity and inner strength. In a candid conversation, Akshaya Hindalkar, who essays the role of Rashi, talked about her character, and how she brought her character Rashi to life on-screen.
Akshaya expressed her feelings about bagging the role of Rashi in Pushpa Impossible and also spoke about what attracted her to join the show, "I was honestly very excited and grateful when I was offered the role. Pushpa Impossible is such a loved show with strong storytelling and joining it as Rashi felt really special. I said yes to Pushpa Impossible due to the depth and values of both the character and the show. Rashi is not just any regular character. Her journey is filled with emotions and purpose. This was one of the reasons that inspired me to be a part of this project."
She also spoke about how joining a show that already has a loyal audience was a bit overwhelming for her and revealed how she got ready for this new role, "Yes, it was a little overwhelming, but in a positive way. I focused on understanding Rashi, her mindset, emotions, and place in the story. I had been watching the show even before joining it, and the previous actor had set a strong benchmark, so there was a sense of responsibility. I got a feel of the show and rehearsed to fit in, while still being myself in the role. I trusted our director Pradeep sir, and Karuna ma’am. She is the spine of the show and helped me feel supported and connected.
When asked about how playing Rashi helped her as an actor, Akshaya said, "Rashi's character helped me grow as an actor, especially when it comes to vulnerability. I hope to carry the maturity this role has given me into my future projects. Since Rashi herself is an actor and influencer, I relate to her a lot, which makes the journey even more personal. Credit goes to the director for creating a comfortable space where we can learn and grow, and with Rashi, I know I’ll continue learning something new every day."
Akshaya also opened up about her experience of working with Karuna Pandey and the rest of the cast of Pushpa Impossible, "It is an extremely amazing experience. Karuna ma’am is very grounded and genuinely supportive, and I truly mean that. On my very first day, she helped me a lot and made me feel comfortable. Getting to know her and working alongside her has been a wonderful experience for me. The entire cast and crew have been welcoming from the start. It’s the first time I’ve seen a production house that is so supportive and collaborative. Despite the long hours, there’s always fun and positivity on set, which really helps break the ice and makes the work feel lighter," she concluded.
