Anand Suryavanshi gets a new name

It seems that a new name is doing wonders for actor

Anand Suryavanshi

. He changed his name to

Siddhaanth Surryavanshi

recently. “Some things are are beyond comprehension. And I happen to tilt towards mysticism a little. I listened to my inner voice when a numerologist advised me to take up a new name. It was awkward for a week, but then I eventually got used to it. In fact, I like it more than my previous one. With the new name, I am waiting for good things to unfold.” Things have been changing for the better ever since both on the professional as well as personal front.

Siddhaanth recently signed '

Waaris

', where he will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar — that of a villain without scruples. “He is maniacal and can go to any extent to achieve what he wants. I have never played a character that dark, and I have to start psyching myself to give a layered performance. I wear Nehru jackets and will sport a heavy moustache for the first time.”

. They have been spotted together at various events looking cosy but have denied any romantic involvement. However, this time around when we checked with him, he neither denied nor accepted it. “No comment” is what he said when asked whether he is dating Priya.

Karanvir Bohra:
It wasn’t because of numerology that he changed his name from Manoj to Karanvir in 2006. Karanvir was his janampatri name and he feels it has more weight. He was named after Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar by his grandfather.

Ridhyma M Tiwaare:
Ridhyma (earlier Ridheema Tiwari) was named Shweta by her parents. But she changed it in 2009 to avoid any confusion as there was already a popular actress by the same name. She has now changed the spelling of her name to Ridhyma M Tiwaare for better prospects. She feels more in sync with the universe with the change.

Shagun Ajmani:
Originally named Garima Ajmani, the actress changed her name on the advice of a numerologist in December, 2014. Since the name had
to begin with the letter ‘S’, she rechristened herself Shagun. She feels the new name exudes positive vibes and hopes it will help her grow professionally, too.

Raqesh Bapat:
The actor replaced ‘K’ with ‘Q’ in his first name in 2010 and has now gone back to his original surname Bapat after changing it to Vashisht. He has also added his father’s name Padmakar and now calls himself Raqesh Padmakar Bapat. He believes that the change has benefited him on both occasions.
