Nidhi Shah recently grabbed attention when screenshots surfaced of her allegedly liking posts that mocked former co-star Gaurav Khanna’s Bigg Boss 19 win. The situation escalated further when a social media user went on to accuse her of having an affair with Gaurav during their time on the show. While Gaurav, who has been happily married to Akanksha Chamola for nine years, chose not to respond to the online buzz, Nidhi stepped forward to address the circulating rumours.
The controversy began after Gaurav Khanna won the show, when his fans noticed that his former co-star Nidhi had liked posts mocking his victory and that he did not deserve the trophy. Her likes immediately sparked speculation and assumptions, particularly because of their previous on-screen association in Anupamaa, as reported by Free Press Journal. Adding to the buzz, one user commented, “They’ve had an affair during Anupamaa.”
Instead of ignoring the comment, Nidhi replied with a hint of sarcasm, saying, “Ya, you know better,” along with laughing emojis.
Talking about Gaurav Khanna, during an exclusive interaction with Times of India TV, he addressed how a few of his co-contestants had labelled him ‘fake’. He said, "It genuinely doesn’t affect me. I’ve done enough meaningful work to stand on solid ground. I’m aware that people will always have countless questions, but if I pause to respond to every single one, how will I move forward and accomplish bigger things? Time is limited. I had just 15 weeks in that house, and for me, impressing those15 individuals never mattered, what mattered to me more was forming a close bond with 1.5 billion people watching from outside. If someone chooses to label me as “fake,” they are free to do so. That opinion doesn’t trouble me. What truly matters is what the audience feels. I’d rather the viewers see the real me. And if they were able to connect with my personality, the way I carried myself, or even my appearance, then that means more than anything. I’ve always believed that when you live in the public eye, the support of the public is what truly counts above everything else.".
Gaurav Khanna was declared Bigg Boss 19 winner on December 7 and Farrhana Bhatt and Pranit More became the first and second runner-up. Gaurav took home the prize money of Rs 50,00,000 and a brand new car.
