Archana Puran Singh recalls struggles in her first pregnancy; says, “I was sick for eight months, didn’t know what to do”
Archana Puran Singh, who is loved for her acting skills and comic timing, keeps fans posted about her personal and professional life. She often shares YouTube videos where she talks about her personal life. She has now shared a video talking about her father’s demise, pregnancy, and much more. She even mentioned feeling abandoned by her husband, Parmeet, during that time.
Talking about the struggles in her first pregnancy, she said, “I remember the first three or four months. During pregnancy, I used to feel nauseous. I was sick for eight months. That’s because I was allergic to myself. That also happened, remember? I started getting allergic to any kind of smell. Even the soap smell—whenever I used to have a bath and come, you would say, ‘Oh my God.’ It was like you’d become an animal who could smell every scent in the world. I remember your makeup man used to come, and I would say, ‘Oh my God, I can’t bear this smell.’”
Archana also opened up about her miscarriage and how it affected her. She said, “For me, that was a very big shock because I truly wanted to have children.” Parmeet, on the other hand, said, “Honestly, through that experience, I also realised something. I saw the stress and the trauma that I went through, and I told myself it’s okay, I don’t need children. I was very happy in the relationship as it was.” Archana then said, “Remember what you said to me. You said, ‘We are so close, so incredibly close.’ Then you said, ‘There is no space between us for anyone else to come in.’”
Parmeet then recalled Archana’s father’s sudden demise and said, “It was the ’90s—mid-’90s. I remember it very clearly, vividly. When we found out that you were pregnant, your father had just passed away. I was in Dubai at the time. You had gone to Bangkok for a show.” Archana, on the other hand, said, “We got the call there. I was standing at the hotel reception. There were no mobile phones back then. My manager told me that your father had expired. I immediately left without doing the show. I travelled from Bangkok to Calcutta, then Calcutta to Delhi, and from Delhi to Dehradun by road. By the time I reached, your father had already been cremated.”
