Arjun Bijlani’s father-in-law Rakesh Swami passes away after a sudden stroke; actor gets emotional at the funeral
Television actor Arjun Bijlani and his wife Neha Swami are currently grieving. The family is mourning the loss of Neha’s father, Rakesh Chandra Swami, who passed away on Thursday morning following a sudden medical emergency. As per reports in the media, Arjun's father-in-law, was admitted to the hospital as he suffered a stroke. He had been on a ventilator for the past three days before passing away on January 1. He was 73 years old. His funeral took place today in Mumbai, where the entire family gathered to bid an emotional farewell to Neha’s father.
In one of the visuals from the funeral, Arjun was seen getting emotional and was also spotted comforting his teary-eyed son, Ayaan. He hugged him and kissed him on the forehead.
A source close to the family informed us that Arjun’s father-in-law was admitted to the hospital on December 29 after suffering a brain stroke. Upon learning about his condition, Arjun rushed back to Mumbai on December 30, as he was placed on a ventilator. Unfortunately, he passed away today (January 1).
One of Arjun's family members was quoted sharing details of his father-in-law's sudden demise to Hindustan Times, "He was fit and fine, set to have dinner when suddenly he suffered a stroke and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was on a ventilator. The entire family is in shock, as Neha and Arjun had met the family before flying off. It was a sudden shock, and we are all still grappling with the situation." Swami is survived by his son, Nishank, and his daughter Neha, who is married to Arjun Bijlani.
For the uninitiated, earlier Arjun Bijlani and his wife Neha were in Dubai for New Year celebrations when they returned to Mumbai abruptly after receiving news that his father-in-law had been hospitalised. Neha's father’s condition required immediate attention, and the family has been united during this difficult time. Neha’s brother, Nishank Swami, a director by profession, has also been by the family’s side, ensuring that they face this crisis together with strength and support.
Arjun shared a very close bond with his father-in-law, especially as he had lost his own father at a young age.
