Arjun Yadav: I would like to do more mythological shows

The past couple of months have witnessed a resurgence in the popularity of mythological shows. Several old

mythological shows

were re-telecast on the small screen when all shoots had come to a grinding halt at the beginning of the

pandemic

. Viewers, too, were hooked on to these shows, with several serials raking in high TRPs.

Actors, who have been a part of mythological shows over the years, also found themselves back in the limelight. Arjun Yadav, who has featured in ‘

Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran

’, says, “I am very fond of historical and mytho shows. So far, I have worked on just one such show, but would definitely want to work in more mythological shows. The reason I like such roles is because I think they teach you a lot. They help us connect and understand stories from the past and make us aware about Indian culture. They also teach us how to speak in accurate Hindi and Sanskrit. Putting it simply, working in mythological shows, takes me back to my roots.”

The actor adds, “I feel

identified the repercussions of our actions in a way that emphasised the importance of wisdom. Mythological characters are examples that teach us what is wrong and what is right.”

The actor says he feels blessed as ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran’ allowed him to connect with audiences of all age groups. He says, “Mythology is enjoyed by all ages. Hence, working in such projects helps in reaching out to people of every age group – from children to adults.”
