celebrated their maiden Diwali as a married couple. Talking about what made the festival of lights special in 2021, Karan shares, “Not just Diwali, any festival is incomplete without family. Nidhi and I feel blessed to have found each other as family in health, wealth and sickness. We are grateful to the Almighty to have helped us and our loved ones sail smoothly through these tough times that took the world by storm. So, this Diwali was certainly different and more special for each and every one of us. We prayed and wished for everyone’s good health, prosperity and happiness. As a couple, we realise the significance of love, togetherness, lights, diyas and sweets.”

Their pre-Diwali routine comprised decorating and lighting up the house. Nidhi says, “Both Karan and I are cleanliness freaks and we can proudly say that our home is Diwali-ready every day. So, cleaning took a back seat and we spent time beautifying our home. It was my responsibility to make rangoli and decorate diyas, while Karan took to lighting and electrical work.”

The last few days leading up to the festival were all about attending and hosting parties. But Diwali was a family affair for Nidhi and Karan. The

actor tells us, “The auspicious Diwali day was spent relaxing, rejuvenating, doing puja, making sweet promises to each other and wishing success for the coming year. As a couple, we have also pledged to keep our environment clean. So, we have decided to plant a tree, buy a sapling for our home, or give a plant to a friend at every Indian festival (an initiative taken by Nidhi). That’s exactly what we planned to do on Diwali as well.”
