Ashnoor Kaur: Being eliminated just a week before the finale felt like someone took away my dream of lifting the trophy
Ashnoor Kaur’s journey on Bigg Boss 19 abruptly ended just a week before the finale, leaving her heartbroken. A task took an unfortunate turn when she hit Tanya Mittal with a wooden plank, leading to her exit. She says, “I still feel terrible that Tanya got hurt because it was never intentional. If I had known in that moment, I would have apologised immediately. I found out only on the weekend and apologised then, but by that time, the decision had already been made. It was devastating because it felt like someone took away my dream of lifting the trophy.”
Until that incident, Ashnoor had been admired for her composure inside the house. The youngest contestant ever surprised many with her maturity. She shares, “The values and morals my parents have instilled in me shaped the way I handled things inside the house. Also, being on sets from a young age teaches you to grow up faster. You interact with people from different walks of life every day, and you learn the real world before others your age does.”
Her shift in behaviour after her father entered the BB house also became a talking point, with many assuming she had become arrogant. Some believed her father had advised her to let the body-shaming incidents slide, interpreting it as her being overly defensive. Ashnoor clarifies, “The transition actually happened after Rohit sir’s Weekend Ka Vaar advice. He told me that I was doing the right thing but needed to put it out there more vocally. I speak less and to the point. Later, when I saw the episodes, I felt sad because only my reactions were shown, not the actions or context. The level of provocation I faced and the conversations I had were not shown. People assumed arrogance for no reason, while my friendships and supportive interactions inside the house were often edited out or cut.”
One of the strongest bonds she formed inside the house was with Abhishek Bajaj, and many felt their friendship was more than just friendship. She says, “We were best friends inside, and we still are. He was the first person to meet me after I got out. Some bonds are so pure that nothing changes them.” Despite the abrupt anti-climax to her journey, Bigg Boss remains meaningful to her. She says, “It was a rollercoaster, a bittersweet experience with an abrupt ending, but I would do it again. Bigg Boss is a concise version of life. I understand people, intentions and myself better now.”
