Actor Avinash Kumar Sain, who is currently seen playing a menacing antagonist in the TV show Kahani Pehle Pyaar Ki, is enjoying a new phase in his career. The show also features Vishal Solanki and Brinda Dahal in lead roles.
Talking about his journey, Avinash reflected on the changing landscape of television. He shared, “For decades, television channels primarily targeted housewives as their core audience, especially during afternoon and evening slots. Producers understood that women often controlled the remote, so they created content catering to their tastes. This is why, for years, shows mostly revolved around female characters, with negative roles dominated by vamps.”
However, Avinash believes things are evolving. “Today, male actors are finally getting opportunities to play principal characters. It’s no longer just about vamps or female antagonists. Male villains are being accepted by the audience, and they are enjoying these characters. Currently, I’m playing a villain in Kahani Pehle Pyaar Ki, and I’m overwhelmed with the love and appreciation I’ve been receiving. It’s a sign that there’s equal growth for male actors on television now,” he said with excitement.
This marks Avinash’s first time playing a full-fledged negative lead, and he’s relishing the challenge. “Earlier, in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, I played a positive role, while in Ek Thi Rani Ek Tha Raavan, I explored comedy. With time, I’m learning and experimenting with different genres. It’s been a rewarding journey so far, and I’m confident that one day I will also get the chance to play a heroic lead,” he expressed.
Avinash’s versatility and dedication show how television storytelling is broadening, opening doors for diverse roles and narratives.
Avinash has previously appeared in series like Sarpanch and Guddu Beds Guddun, as well as the film Aakhir Palaayan Kab Tak..?
