Yeh Teri Galiyan

' finalised him and Vrushika Mehta to play the lead pair post the leap. A promo featuring the pair was also aired before the show launched, and their entry was slated to take place 15 days later. However, the track which revolved around the child artistes started getting a good response, and the makers decided to extend it. They also relieved both Manish and Vrushika from the contract. Yet another twist in the tale happened when the makers decided to go ahead with the time leap eventually, and contacted Manish and Vrushika. However, Manish had already committed to another project by then. So, Avinash Mishra, who was last seen on 'Mariam Khan — Reporting Live', has now stepped into Manish’s shoes to play the new Shantanu.

Manish says, “After the original plan was revoked, I was relieved by the production house. They told me that the ongoing track could be extended by a couple of months or even a year. The channel approached me again around 15 days ago, but I had taken up another project by then.”

Avinash adds, “When I learnt that Manish is no longer a part of the show, I checked with the team and they told me that he looked mature for the part. It’s challenging to step into his shoes and I am certain that I will be compared with him, but that’s normal on TV.”
