Avinesh Rekhi on his character's preparation as Lord Shiva in Ganesh Kartikey: Meditation allows me to stay fully present on set
Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey is really pulling viewers in with its heartfelt take on the Shiv Parivar story and some seriously compelling performances. The show looks epic on screen, but the real magic comes from the low-key preparation that happens off-camera.
Avinesh Rekhi, who is seen playing the iconic role of Lord Shiva, begins the preparation for the show in the quietest way. He has made meditation a big part of his routine. This is his way of tapping into Lord Shiva’s calm vibe, grace, and that quiet power the role calls for.
Speaking about his preparation, Avinesh says, “Mahadev’s strength lies in his stillness. I felt it was important to cultivate it within myself first so that I can portray the calm and balance on-screen . Meditation has helped me slow down, centre my thoughts, and maintain the posture and composure the character demands. It allows me to stay fully present on set, especially during emotionally intense or silent moments. This practice of doing meditation has become an integral part of my preparation.”
What really sets Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey apart isn't just the big visuals or epic scale, it's how it digs into the Shiv Parivaar's family dynamics. Sure, it's mythology, but at its core, it's about real stuff: holding a family together, making sacrifices, finding balance, and that quiet power that keeps everyone connected. Every episode showcases the bond between Shiva and Parvati, or how parents navigate life with Ganesh and Kartikey.
From Mahadev's calm command, Parvati's warmth, and the kids, Ganesh and Kartikey's perfect mix of innocence and fire, each performance is winning the hearts of the viewers.
