The cast and crew of
TV show
'Bhakharwadi' are still grieving the death of one of their colleagues, who recently succumbed to COVID-19. A few other unit members also tested positive for
coronavirus. However, as they say, the show must go on, and the team will resume shoot today in Mira Road.
BT contacted 'Bhakharwadi’s lead actress
Bhakti Rathod, who said, “The staff member who passed away was employed as a tailor. When some others also tested positive, we stopped shooting for the past three days, but will resume today.
The actress added that the production house had taken proper care on the sets. She said, “We had even done a mock shoot for two days, just to understand the concept of social distancing. Each team member was given an umbrella and we had to stand at one umbrella’s distance from one another. We were particular about using sanitisers and masks. In fact, our producer (
JD Majethia
) used to constantly remind us to wear masks when we were not shooting. PPE kits were distributed among everyone, along with a personal make-up kit for each actor. We did take all precautions possible.”
So, is she apprehensive to resume shooting? “No, I am not apprehensive or scared. A few team members have tested positive, but that doesn’t mean I will not go on the sets. I don’t like shooting from home. We have to live with this till the
vaccine
arrives. What if someone in your building gets infected? Will you stop living in your house? I don’t think we should stop working because of the
pandemic
. We just need to be alert and continue with the precautions. Also, we need to boost our immunity.”.
