The much-awaited 18th season of Bigg Boss is scheduled to premiere on October 6, with Salman Khan returning as the host. While various celebrity names have been circulating in the media, the latest update reveals that Shilpa Shirodkar has been confirmed as a contestant for Bigg Boss 18, hosted by Salman Khan.
Sources close to the show informed us that Shilpa has given her nod to be locked inside the Bigg Boss 18 house. Apart from Shilpa other contestants who are participating in the show are Nyrraa Banerji, Chahat Pandey, Shoaib Ibrahim, Dheeraj Dhoopar
For those unfamiliar, Shilpa Shirodkar is the younger sister of former actress Namrata Shirodkar, who is married to Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. Shilpa made her Bollywood debut in Ramesh Sippy's Bhrashtachar (1989), where she starred alongside Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha.
Shilpa Shirodkar has appeared in several blockbuster films throughout her career. She starred opposite Anil Kapoor in the 1990 hit Kishen Kanhaiya and featured in popular movies like Trinetra (1991), Hum (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Aankhen (1993), Pehchaan (1993), Gopi Kishan (1994), Bewafa Sanam (1995), and Mrityudand (1997).
After a 13-year break, Shilpa Shirodkar made her return to acting in 2013 with the series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan. In 2016, she also did a TV show, Silsila Pyar Ka.
The makers recently released a new promo clip on Sunday night featuring Salman Khan dressed in a dark blue shirt and black suit, perched on a giant ticking clock. In this video, he elaborates on the season's theme, explaining that while the Bigg Boss eye has primarily concentrated on the present, it will now also investigate the past and future. Salman embarks on a journey reminiscent of a time machine, surrounded by hourglasses, masks, and cameras. He concludes by reiterating the theme for the season: 'Time ka Tandav.'
