Hunger strike in the Bigg Boss 18 house

‘Bigg Boss 18’: Gunratan Sadavarte Sparks Controversy with Hunger Strike in Support of Jailed Contestants Gunratan Sadavarte has stirred controversy in Bigg Boss 18 after launching a hunger strike to support jailed contestants Hema Sharma and Tajinder Bagga. Despite being nominated as a replacement for them, Sadavarte refused, expressing concerns about how it would affect his public image. His bold stand has quickly made headlines, adding a new layer of drama to the ongoing season.

Law licence getting suspended

Gunratan Sadavarte’s Law License Suspended for Two Years Due to Misconduct In a significant development, the State Bar Council has suspended lawyer and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Gunratan Sadavarte’s license to practice law for two years. The decision was taken after the disciplinary committee found him guilty of “other misconduct” under Section 35 of the Advocates Act, 1961. The suspension follows allegations of misbehavior, which led the committee to take strict action. A formal communication from the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa (BCMG) to the Bar Council of India noted, “The license to practice issued by BCMG to Respondent advocate is hereby suspended for a period of 2 years from the date of the service of this order on him.” This suspension marks a challenging phase in Sadavarte’s legal career, even as he continues to be a part of Bigg Boss 18.

The arrest

Advocate Gunratna Sadavarte was arrested in connection with the MSRTC staffers’ protest outside Sharad Pawar’s residence on April 8. He was released from Arthur Road jail on Tuesday evening, 18 days after being taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the striking MSRTC employees’ attack on the residence of NCP chief Sharad Pawar.

6/8

Protest against reservation

Sadavarte gained attention during his vocal opposition to the Maratha reservation. He represented the OBC community, arguing that the reservation would harm their interests. His stance sparked significant backlash from Maratha leaders and groups, leading to protests against him.

7/8

Legal Action Against Politicians

Sadavarte has filed several public interest litigations (PILs) and cases against prominent politicians. He often challenges government policies, making him a controversial figure among political circles. His activism, while appreciated by some, has also earned him critics, particularly from political parties whose policies he opposes.

8/8

Receiving death threats

In one of the episodes of the show, when Hema Sharma had asked Gunratna for his number and the popular advocate began narrating it, Bigg Boss intervened and reprimanded Hema. While Hema apologized, Bigg Boss, explaining the rules, asked Gunratna which side he would fight the case from now—his own side or Hema’s. Gunratna, siding with Hema, stated that she acted in innocence and was unaware of the rule. After this, Bigg Boss informed Gunratna that his number had been flashed on national television and warned that if he received spam calls, no one would be responsible. Gunratna then told Bigg Boss that he wasn’t bothered and shared that just a day before entering the show, he had received a threat call from Karachi, Pakistan. He added that he knew how to handle such cases and how to deal with them effectively.
