‘Bigg Boss 19’s Malti Chahar opens up about a painful childhood and growing up amid family conflict: ‘I was forced to...’
Malti Chahar, who was recently seen in ‘Bigg Boss 19’, became known for her strong, uncompromising personality inside the house. The actor, who is also the sister of Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar, Malti has spoken about a deeply personal chapter of her life. In a interview, she reflected on her childhood and the emotional scars left by her parents’ troubled relationship.
She also recalled how her dreams often clashed with expectations placed on her at a young age, “I had told my father that I wanted to participate in the Miss India beauty pageant and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. However, he wanted me to become an IPS officer. He believed that by keeping me away from these ambitions, I would focus on my studies. I was forced to keep short hair until the 11th grade and was given no freedom. It affected me deeply.”
Sharing painful memories, she added, “Many times, my mother would hit me after arguing with my father, and at times, my father did the same.”
She revealed that her parents have been living separately for the past 13 years and admitted that the emotional damage of that period stayed with her.
Growing up in constant conflict
Looking back, Malti shared in an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his Youtube channal, she said that her early years were far from easy. As the elder sibling, she found herself exposed to situations no child should have to witness. Talking about that phase, she said, “There was a lot of tension between my parents. They fought constantly, and being the elder sibling, I had to witness all of it. She explained that while her brother found an escape through cricket, she remained at home.She also recalled how her dreams often clashed with expectations placed on her at a young age, “I had told my father that I wanted to participate in the Miss India beauty pageant and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Parents’ separation and its emotional toll
Malti further opened up about how her parents’ incompatibility shaped her upbringing. She described living in a small space where there was no room to retreat from conflict. “We lived in a 1BHK house, where do you go when your parents are fighting?” she said.Sharing painful memories, she added, “Many times, my mother would hit me after arguing with my father, and at times, my father did the same.”

On ‘Bigg Boss 19’
