Shamita Shetty surprised everyone when Karan Johar, who is the host of BB OTT, called her name. She appeared in a red gown on the stage. Shamita revealed she had committed to doing the show way before her brother-in-law Raj Kundra was arrested in the alleged porn case. She also joked 'Ek baar joh maine commitment kar di toh apne aap ki bhi nahi sunti'.
In the premiere episode, Shamita chose Raqesh Bapat as her connection. The two in no time grew fond of each other. They were almost always spotted together, talking to and confiding in each other. Their friendship soon turned into love.
Besides Raqesh, one person that Shamita was constantly seen with was singer Neha Bhasin. The two had each other's back throughout the show. Shamita and Neha discussed Raqesh and Pratik and their feelings for them. They always supported each other and there was hardly a moment of disagreement between them. Shamita opened up to her and her past like never before.
Right from the start, Shamita did not gel well with Divya Agarwal. There are a number of times she has said that she has 'trust issues' with Divya, and Divya has complained of Shamita being 'bossy'. Divya's presence in the house and her closeness with Raqesh also made Shamita upset. She did not like the fact that Raqesh always stood up for Divya and not her.
