CID actor Dinesh Phadnis’ demise due to health issues has deeply affected his co-stars, friends, family and fans. Shivaji Satam, who visited the crematorium for the last rites, remembered the actor fondly.
He took to social media and wrote, “DineshPhadnis, simple, humble, lovable.”
Raymon Kakar reacted to the post saying, “Have fond memories of him. Humble, always smiling and down to earth , witty and a fabulous actor. RIP.”
Tanya Abrol in a long note wrote, “Dearest Dinesh sir or how we all called him Freddy sir with love and affection. A person who made so many people laugh, be it onscreen or in real life and now that you are gone .. even then we are smiling and laughing thinking about all the stories and incidents but with teary eyes. A roller coaster of emotions. May your journey ahead be peaceful . You will be missed tremendously, not just by us and family but also by millions of your fans . You taught me the word “ Baida “ which means eggs . I loved the the name you gave me .. Shambhu Shikari . And the occasional photo shoots by @shivaaji_satam sir . The cast of CID were spotted at the crematorium earlier today. Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Tanya Abrol and Ansha Sayed were at the crematorium to pay respect. The actor passed away last night owing to health issues. His last rites were held at Daulat Nagar crematorium in Borivali around 10.30-11am.
Dinesh's co-star and close friend Dayanand Shetty, confirmed the news of his demise to ETimes TV saying, "Yes, it's true he is no more. It happened around 12:08 am.”
Dinesh Phadnis is known for his role as Inspector Fredricks aka Freddy and had been a part of the show throughout for 20 years.
