Karan Johar announced Shanaya Kapoor's debut film, Bedhadak, today (March 3) along with Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada. What's interesting is that Lakshya may be a relatively newer name in the film industry but the actor has done several television shows before making it to the silver screen. Featuring in Bedhadak with Shanaya Kapoor
Things are certainly looking up for Lakshya. He has been announced as one of the leads in Shanaya Kapoor's debut film, Bedhadak. The producer of the show, Karan Johar, introduced him on Twitter and wrote, "Looks that will melt your heart just as easily as his smile will. Presenting #Lakshya as Karan in #Bedhadak. Also in Dostana 2
Lakshya will also be seen in Dharma Production's Dostana 2 where he will be seen playing the role of Raj. Back then, Karan Johar had thanked casting director Shanoo Sharma for discovering Lakshya. He wrote, "Yes I woke up to several inquiries asking about his film industry connections!!! He is NOT from the business and went through a legit audition process!! Am grateful to Shanoo Sharma for introducing LAKSHYA to @DharmaMovies."
TV debut with Warrior High
Not many might know that Lakshya had actually first made his debut on television with Warrior High where he was seen as Parth. The show was a high school romance drama and saw many shades of the character portrayed by Lakshya.
Fantasy drama hero in Adhuri Kahaani Hamari
In Adhuri Kahaani Hamari, Lakshya was seen playing the role of Yuvraj Madhav and Krish. The romantic fantasy drama also starred Mahima Makwana as Manasvini and Radhika. The show ran for about a year on the small screen.
Playing Veer Mehra in Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil
Lakshya went on to play Veer Mehra in Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil. The main leads in the show were Drashti Dhami, Arjun Bijlani and Vineet Raina. The show was quite popular and ran for a year.
Big break with Porus
Lakshya made his name in the television industry with Porus. It was his big break and in an interview to BT, he himself said, "Porus has been a big turning point in my career. I had never imagined that I would be so consumed by a role that I will even forget that I am Laksh. Without a doubt, ‘Porus’ has been the toughest show of my career. It has transformed my individuality and I have grown both as a person and as an artist."
