Dipika Kakar has been going through a challenging phase due to her ongoing liver cancer treatment. The actress, who underwent surgery last year to remove a liver tumour, is currently undergoing immunotherapy after doctors detected a cyst in her liver. In a recent vlog on her YouTube channel, the Sasural Simar Ka actress shared an update on her health and also spoke about her father-in-law's condition. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)

Father-in-law is doing well

First of all, I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. The past few days have been very difficult for us since my father was hospitalized. I am also undergoing treatment, and my immunotherapy has started. Thank you all for your love, prayers and support. You already know about my father's health updates, and the good news is that he is getting better with each passing day. It is a big relief for all of us. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)

Many of you already know that my immunotherapy has started. Dr. Seventi Limaye at HN Reliance is now my oncologist. I recently underwent a session of double immunotherapy, and my upcoming sessions will continue through IV treatment. So far, I haven't experienced any major side effects. Of course, when such strong medicines enter your body, you may feel a little tired or weak for a day or two. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)

Some people may also get a mild fever or other minor symptoms. In my case, I had a lot of back pain and a slight fever once. Since I had been spending time in the hospital, it was possible that I had picked up a mild viral infection. To be sure, I met Dr. Limaye again and underwent several tests. Thankfully, all the reports came back normal, and there were no major concerns. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)

We concluded that it was likely a minor viral infection and not a serious side effect of the treatment. Going forward, my immunotherapy will continue. Along with that, we will keep monitoring my health through regular blood tests, tumour marker tests, scans and other investigations recommended by my doctor. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)

Difficult time for Shoaib

Difficult time for Shoaib

I think Shoaib is the one going through the toughest phase right now. He was already very worried about my health over the past year, and now with my father's hospitalization, things have become even more difficult for him. He is handling everything very strongly. On the day of my first immunotherapy session, he wanted to be with me during the infusion. He kept coordinating with me and rushed to the hospital as soon as he could. At the same time, he has been staying close to my father-in-law's hospital and managing everything there as well. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)

His routine is extremely hectic. He starts his day at the hospital, meets the doctors during their rounds, comes home for a short break, and then goes back again. In between all of this, he is also working and going for editing too. This is probably the most challenging phase for him. Earlier, whenever my father-in-law was admitted to the hospital, I would always stay by his side. This time, because of my own treatment and health situation, I am not able to be there with him all the time, and that is something I feel deeply. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)

Missing Ruhaan

Ruhaan is also there, and everyone at home is taking good care of him. When I was admitted, my mother, Dharam Dada and the rest of the family were with him, so he was fine. But these days, he doesn't like being away from me for too long. Many of you noticed that it was Friday and that we couldn't take him out for ice cream like we usually do. I was really touched that so many of you noticed such a small thing. I just wanted to thank everyone for your prayers and support for our family. (Photo: Dipika Kakar YouTube)
