Disha Vakani’s father, Bhim Vakani, passes away; Taarak Mehta’s producer Asit Kumar Modi confirms
Veteran actor and actress Disha Vakani’s father, Bhim Vakani, has passed away. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumar Modi confirmed the late actor’s untimely demise on Tuesday morning and paid his tributes to Disha’s father. He had featured in a few episodes of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah show and had won hearts with his acting skills in several other shows and movies as well.
“He wasn’t unwell, but we got to know from his family in the morning that he has passed away. Bhim Vakani was a great painter, actor, and director he even worked in Lagaan. His daughter Disha Vakani’s success as Dayaben… he played a big part in that. He contributed a lot to building Disha’s career. We had a family-like bond; whenever he came to Mumbai, he’d come home, and we’d hang out. It feels like a part of my family has gone with him,” Asit Kumar Modi told MoneyControl.
While Disha Vakani or any of the other actors have not confirmed the news yet, producer Asit Kumar Modi has mourned the late actor’s demise. Fans on social media have also shared their condolences for the late actor’s family members.
Bhim Vakani was a veteran actor who had been a part of several popular Bollywood movies and TV shows like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, and Devdas, where he worked alongside Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan.
His daughter Disha Vakani, is well known for playing the role of Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. However, she has been missing from the show for years now. She went on maternity leave in 2018 and has not returned since.
