Eisha Singh recalls bagging her first role in Ishq Ka Rang Safed; says, “My dad didn’t want me to play a widow at 16”
Eisha Singh, who won many hearts on the reality show Bigg Boss, recently opened up about her personal and professional life. The actress appeared on a podcast with Paras Chhabra, where she spoke about her journey in the industry, being part of the reality show Bigg Boss, and much more.
The actress revealed how she bagged her first role when she was only 16. She mentioned how her parents were skeptical about whether they should let her go to Mumbai to pursue her dreams at such a young age. She also shared her father’s concern about her playing a widow’s role at 16.
She revealed that her dream of becoming an actor began during childhood while growing up with her grandparents in Bhopal. She shared, “I used to think this must be so much fun. I want to do this too.” The actress shared that she would recreate movie scenes with her doll after watching films. She especially remembered recreating scenes from Vivah. As she grew older, Eisha became sure that acting was her desired career.
The actress shared that she started doing theatre in Bhopal and gave countless auditions for advertisements and small roles, but nothing worked initially. “I used to think maybe I could at least get a one- or two-day role in shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” she shared.
Her breakthrough finally came with Ishq Ka Rang Safed. Eisha revealed that she recorded her audition at home with her mother’s help, who shot the video on a handycam while she performed wearing a white saree. A few months later, she received a call confirming her selection for the role. She was only 16 years old when she bagged her first television show.
On the work front, she won hearts with her journey on Bigg Boss. She was also recently seen on Laughter Chefs and mentioned that she’s working on an upcoming TV show.
