Actor, influencer, and a reality star, Hamid Barkzi is deeply rooted in his culture and proudly follows its traditions. He has been celebrating the pious month of Ramadan with deep devotion and relished iftar time with his family and friends. Having always celebrated Eid with reverence and enthusiasm, Hamid gets a bit nostalgic about the festival and his chores on that day during his childhood.
Calling Eid his best day since childhood, Hamid recalls, “Eid is the day I wait for with my whole heart. I still remember what an enthusiastic kid I was in my childhood. I used to wake up before everyone in the morning, get ready, and go with my dad and brother to the Masjid for namaaz. After coming home I used to sit like a good boy for my eidi. I also helped my mother with the festive chores. I had lots of biryani and sheer kurma. My mother makes the best sheer kurma. Then there was a sweet sibling fight about who looked the best and who had the most eidi. I always won, haha!! The best part of Eid was distributing gifts to some less privileged groups in society. And to this day, that remains my best part of Eid.”

“As I grew up, I went on night outs with my friends. We ate, clicked pictures and had the best time of our lives. We visited each other's homes and had sheer kurma. There used to be a competition on who would finish the bowl first!! It was the best time… We still try to relish the childhood days as much as we can on Eid,” expresses Hamid.
This year Hamid is celebrating Eid with family. “I’ve come to Delhi to celebrate Eid with my family. Since I am in Mumbai for work, I prefer celebrating festivals and important days at home. Being with family is my biggest eidi. I will, of course begin the day with namaaz at the Masjid followed by maa ke haath ka sheer kurma.”
“May Allah bless everyone with happiness and may there be peace in the world,” concluded Hamid.
