Exclusive - Aaliya on estranged husband Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s close connect with Bigg Boss OTT 2 host Salman Khan: It doesn’t matter if they know each other, this platform is different

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s estranged wife Aaliya entered Bigg Boss OTT 2 house. She spoke to ETimes TV about her wish to break free of the ‘star wife’ image, her current partner, mental challenges and more. Amidst a troubled married life, Aaliya looks forward to leaving behind her past on a happy note and move ahead.

On taking up Bigg Boss OTT 2

To show your real personality, I loved this platform. Your view towards many things changes and that’s why let’s see what happens. I haven’t followed Bigg Boss as such and I have seen some of it.

3/10

About participating in the show amidst a troubled married life

Whatever problems I have faced in life, you talk about it to your family and friends. But when things go out of hand, then I had to resort to taking help by doing such things. However, I wouldn’t want to look back in the past. A new journey in my life is beginning. I always wished to begin my career. I don’t want to remember my past much. I wish to close my past on a happy note. Problems do crop up and you react according to situations.

4/10

On being known as the star wife

It is true that I am known as the star wife. I won’t lie about it. It is a fact. In your subconscious mind, when you come to Mumbai with a lot of dreams, you don’t come with the thought of getting married or have kids. I also came with such dreams but the problems in married life were so many, I wanted to do something for my own. I didn’t want to be dependent on anybody financially.

5/10

‘Want people to know the real me’

I have done a film as a producer, but behind the camera. At this moment, I wanted people to know the real me. And Bigg Boss OTT 2 provided me the perfect platform to create that identity of my own.

6/10

Mental preparations for stay in the house

I am mentally prepared for Bigg Boss. We have all types around us, with whom we spend our lives in the outside world. In Bigg Boss, when you are staying with so many characters, with different types of mentality and you have to spend a lot of time together, your real self comes out. Audience sees it and it will be a task for me too. But I will manage because I chose this path for myself and will carry this forward as a fighter.

7/10

Strategies to be in the house

I cook good food and good at cleaning too. This has been my life’s routine. I have been a housewife and a producer. I will have to see how others behave with me despite being good to them. I call a spade a spade. Whatever it is, I will be upfront. Even if it is bad or good, I will call it out. I will not side anyone, who is wrong. Even if that person is my friend, I will say it.

8/10

Her daughter convinced to take up the show

Yes, I am going to miss my kids. But it was my daughter, who convinced me to take it up and said, ‘Mom, you go make your career’. She knows how things are between her father and mother. Her support is a lot for me. My niece is a designer. She took a break from her career and will be taking care of our kids. She is staying at my place. Nawazuddin has provided everything. In 10 days, the kids will go on a Europe trip with their father for one and half month. So I have no worries because the kids will be with their father.

9/10

Your partner’s reaction on you taking up this reality show

He is an Italian. He doesn’t know much about this field of work. He works in the IT sector in Dubai. He is a very simple guy. He saw his photos in the media, and he doesn’t really care much. But he did wish me for doing good in the show.

10/10

On Bigg Boss OTT host Salman Khan knowing Nawazuddin Siddiqui

I don’t know Salman Khan ji personally. I know him as an actor. Of course, he might be close to Nawaz. But this field is very different. And it doesn’t matter if he knows Nawaz. And Salman ji is a thorough professional. I have seen him not siding wrong things. If gets angry too. It’s fine. He is honest about his reactions and me being Nawaz’s wife, doesn’t matter.
