From marrying his better half Andleeb Zaidi to shooting for his first Bollywood film as a lead, 2023 has been quite the year for Ali Merchant. As the year comes to an end, Ali looks back at 2023 and shares his highlights and goals of the year. Beginning with his highlight of 2023, Ali says, “The highlight of 2023, and indeed the pinnacle of my life, was marrying the love of my life.”
The actor shares his project which stands out for the year, “This year, my out-of-the-box project (OOT) was ‘Libaas,’ following last year's ‘Lock Upp’ Season 1. I am anticipating the next instalment in the upcoming year.”
Ask him about any mistakes made during the year, and Ali shares something which he feels is a mistake made, “I adopted 12 cats, and unfortunately, one of them became pregnant. Due to my travel commitments at that time, I had to arrange for her adoption, acknowledging that it was a mistake not being able to care for her properly.”
Ali says that the feature film he has shot for in 2023 is certainly a goal accomplished, “The feature film I've worked on is scheduled for release in 2024, bringing me immense soul satisfaction. I'm eager for audiences to witness it, as I've taken on a completely distinct role in the project.”
He adds that the unfinished chapter of the year is his film as its release will be next year, “My film, initially an unfinished chapter, is set for release in 2024, having been completed in 2023.”
Ali ends off by expressing his gratitude for all his accomplishments this year and looks to 2024 with optimism. “I express gratitude for the accomplishments in the past year – marrying the girl of my dreams, achieving professional success, and experiencing profound happiness. As I approach 2024, I aim to sustain this richness, not just in financial terms but also by engaging in soul-satisfying endeavours and nurturing family, friends, and work values,” he ends.
