Exclusive - Anupamaa actor Sachin Tyagi on daily soaps and a tiring work schedule: I try to find happiness wherever I go
Having seen the industry closely for over two decades now, Sachin Tyagi, who is currently seen in Anupama is not one to mince his words when it comes to speaking the realities of showbiz. He understands that while glamour is one part of it, hard work and consistency help one survive till the last and offer an unfiltered glimpse into his world.
Talking about the daily grind of a daily soap, he said, "You are tired. You don't get enough sleep. You come to the set at 9. You leave after 9. You are constantly running against the clock. There is a timer. You have to wake up, sleep, work out, and spend time with your family in whatever time you get beyond your shooting schedule. You are not at ease, but I am not complaining. I have accepted it and I am happy with it."
But despite the challenges, his outlook remains grounded as he enjoys his work. "I try to find happiness wherever I go. This is what I wanted to do, and when I am getting to do what I am passionate about, why complain? Be grateful," he added.
Though Sachin was a part of Rajan's show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which is one of the longest-running TV shows in Indian television, for nine years, his entry in Anupama has come as a breath of fresh air. He was quick to credit Rajan for his vision and said, "Rajan ji's passion is driving the show. He is so madly in love and invested in this. His vision and his passion are beyond comparison. There is no parallel."
"I have not seen a producer like him, who not only puts his money but also his heart, soul, and sweat into making a show. And that is one of the reasons his shows are so successful," he added.
He also praised his co-star Rupali Ganguly, who plays the titular role in Anupama. He said, "She is unbelievable. Even after six years, she works so hard. The kind of drive she has and the kind of passion she has, it's unimaginable. She is Anupama, and Anupama is her. Even before I joined Anupama, when I watched the show it felt that Rupali was born to play Anupama."
While Sachin acknowledges that the show connects so deeply with the audience because it resonates with life and society in general, he feels the audience has also become receptive of relatable content.
"I think the valuable lessons of life are incorporated together. There are many family values in the series. It's encouraging, inspiring, and entertaining at the same time. And they do give out messages around issues that are not talked about every once in a while, and now the audience has also become willing to accept those messages or lessons through the show," Sachin concluded.
But despite the challenges, his outlook remains grounded as he enjoys his work. "I try to find happiness wherever I go. This is what I wanted to do, and when I am getting to do what I am passionate about, why complain? Be grateful," he added.
