Producer Rajan Shahi’s TV show Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si is all set to wrap up. The family drama, which hit the tube in August last year, will end on March 11. A unit hand tells us, “We were informed about it yesterday. The show couldn’t resonate with the audience the way we had expected. Rather than being abruptly pulled off, the makers decided to end it while it was performing decently.”

Mohit Malik, who plays the male lead in the show, didn’t respond to our call. Rajan, too, didn’t respond to our message.

Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si features Mohit and Sayli Salunkhe as the lead couple. The story revolves around an aspiring playback singer, Vandana (played by Sayli). The show also features Sheeba Akashdeep, Yatin Karyekar, Karanveer Mehra, Leena Jumani, Kshitee Jog, Vishal Nayak, Amit Behl, Aishwarya Narkar and Ankita Sharma.

Mohit returned to TV with Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si two years after his show Lockdown Ki Love Story ended in 2021. Ahead of the launch of Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, while talking to us about his decision to stay away from the small screen, he told us, “After Lockdown... I wanted to do TV only if there was a great script. When I am not shooting, I enjoy travelling with my family because it is important to get away from the fast-paced life of Mumbai and rejuvenate. Ekbir is growing up now and I like to explore new places and do fun things with him.”

Sharing his happiness over being part of a mature love story, he added, “It is important for women to not be under any pressure to marry regardless of their age. I got married when I was only 27 and I was not even settled. But it was the best decision. Age doesn’t matter, it’s about finding someone right for you. It’s about finding a good life partner with whom you can go through the ups and downs of life.”
