Exclusive: Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant Palak Purswani on coming face-to-face with ex Avinash Sachdev: We haven’t spoken in a while, don’t know how I will react

Palak Purswani, who has done shows like Badii Devrani, Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania, Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke and Udaariyaan, is locked inside Bigg Boss OTT 2 house. Having done reality shows like Splitsvilla and Nach Baliye in the past, Palak’s personal life has often been talked about. She was in a relationship with actor Avinash Sachdev, who also be inside the house. Before entering the house, ETimes TV got in touch with Palak and she spoke about taking up the reality show, what went wrong in her relationship, facing her ex inside the house and more.

I am having mixed feelings. There are too many emotions and preparations. The adrenaline rush is increasing as I am nearing the launch date. I have packed so many bags, my mom thought it’s my wedding trousseau. Seeing so many bags, she thought I am going forever. More than anything, I have to mentally prepare for it because it takes a toll on you mentally.

More than me, my mom wanted me to be a part of the show. She is an ardent fan of Bigg Boss and would always tell me that she wants to see me inside. I had a journal, where I would write my to-do list of things I want in life. Bigg Boss would be on the top. Just a few days back, I was scrolling through and saw it and realised it’s finally happening. This was a dream come true. In March, this show came to me. I had worked with the production house in Udaariyaan and they are a like a family. So I just thought of giving it a try.

I was approached last year, but I was in between another show and the dates were not working out. I felt this year, I am mentally more prepared. I am not answerable to anyone. There would be no restrictions in a relationship. I am going to be myself and go all out. I am going with a clean slate in the house. This year is the perfect time as I am standing in the perfect phase of my life. With OTT, I feel I can connect with the youth. I am all game.

There is no possibility of being ‘filtered’ in the house. No matter how much you think of not saying things, uss ghar me kuch chhupta nahi hai. Your personal life doesn’t stay personal. After a point, in the house, you don’t even realise because you are in your element and being yourself. So I don’t have anything to hide. I am going to take each day as it comes. I have always been a transparent person. The right emotion at the right time is very important.

My experience with reality show was 10 years back when I did Splitsvilla. Then I did Nach Baliye also. Can’t compare those journeys with BB. People change and I have also evolved as a person. This will be a new Palak altogether, but of course it’s a bonus of being a part of reality shows previously. Prince, Yuvika, Karan and Nishant are my friends. These people I am connected to but even if I take tips, we are all different personalities. Some basic things I have discussed. Suno sabki, karo apni.

He just went his own way. In some relationships, two people are good individually. But when they come together, there is a friction. Things were good. He was a nice companion but the last few months of our relationship just really went down the drain. For me, more than love and respect, loyalty matters. If I am not getting that, then it is better to walk out. So there was no point in stretching the relationship and hence I decided to call it off. It was just going weaker.

I won’t like to comment anything on that. Talking about loyalty, there were a lot of things that I had asked for as a girlfriend and a partner. There are certain expectations in a relationship and when you are not getting that in return, it’s non negotiable for me.

We haven’t faced each other for a while now. It is going to take a lot of strength for me to face him again. We haven’t spoken with each other. I don’t know how I am going to react. But definitely, we have gone our own ways. I am a better person now mentally. At the end of the day, he is my competitor. So if anything comes to me, I will fight back. I will not hold back. In Bigg Boss, friends-turn-foes, foes-turn-friends… so who knows we might end up being friends and come out of the house.

I have been single since one and a half year. One year, I had restricted myself. My guards are really high. I was in a solid relationship and it took me a while to get out of it. I took a year to heal myself. Now I am prepared and asking the Universe as well. I am open to explore love.

I loved Gauahar Khan. She was classy and the way she carried herself. She was so well-spoken and knew when to take a stand. Her styling also was on point. I really liked and loved her journey. She played with a lot of dignity. I also love how Nishant (Singh Malkhani) had played.
