Step aside coffee and cold drinks, tea is the most popular beverage in the world and is one of the most aromatic drinks of our country. ‘The International Tea Day’ mainly seeks to raise awareness on the impact the tea trade has on farmers and workers but is also celebrated by tea lovers worldwide. This year, actors such as Manav Gohil a.k.a Akshay from Main Hoon Aparajita and Sonica Handa a.k.a Babita from Meet share their best memories of Chai and how it is one of the most lovable drinks of everyone in our country.
Manav Gohil, who plays the role of Akshay in Main Hoon Aparajita, mentioned, “Tea in India is not just a beverage, it’s a feeling, and it binds us all. I love tea! My house has a beautiful view, so I get to enjoy my cup of tea in the morning with it. I have heard that Munnar has a huge area covered in tea plantations over the hills and going in winters there is like cherry on top, I really wish to visit there sometime soon. I want to meet the wonderful people who work there in the field and experience the process by myself. Tea is part of my daily routine and is my all-time favourite beverage. I like my tea healthy, so I avoid putting milk or sugar in it."
Sonica Handa, who plays the role of Babita in Zee TV’s Meet mentioned, “I believe everyone in our country is a Chai lover and I myself is one of them. Chai is the beverage that soothes my soul and is almost like an energy drink for me. We usually have a very hectic shoot schedule and long hours of the shoot, and Chai really helps me to stay fresh. I love all kinds of Chai, but Masala Chai is my favorite. The best combination is having tea with some garam garam Pakode, it tastes great in all seasons but the best time to enjoy it is monsoon."
