Speculations have been rife about Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin taking a time leap, marking the exit of the entire cast, including the male lead, Shakti Arora. It has also been reported that only Bhavika Sharma, Ankita Khare (Harini Sawant), and Shakti’s onscreen parents, Manasi Salvi and Indraneel Bhattacharya will be retained on the show after the time leap. We can now confirm that the time leap is indeed happening and that Shakti is exiting the daily soap. So, who will play the new male lead? Well, we have learnt from our reliable sources that Hitesh Bharadwaj is almost locked to join the show as the new hero.

A source associated with the show informs us, “We contemplated a lot before deciding to wrap up Shakti’s track. We felt that it had run its course and the character had no further scope for development. We have approached Hitesh Bharadwaj to play the new male lead and the talks have reached an advanced stage. We are expecting to finalise the deal soon.”

The actor has been part of shows such as Suvreen Guggal -- Topper of The Year, Love By Chance, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Chhoti Sarrdaarni, Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani, Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain and Udaariyaan. He was last seen as IPS Malhar Thakkar in Aankh Micholi.

Hitesh started his career as a radio jockey before he made his way into acting. In a previous interview while reminiscing about his initial years as an RJ, he told us, “When I started as a radio jockey, I remembered how people used to call me and congratulate me on how I could give them advice when they called me on the show. They listened to my playlist and enjoyed my conversations. Even today, I have people responding with emails and messages sharing how they enjoy listening to songs on the radio during late-night drives.”
