Nehalaxmi Iyer is gearing up for a new chapter in her life. The actress will tie the knot with Rudraysh Joshii, an MBA graduate, on February 22. Neha and Rudraysh met at a Zumba class a few years ago and their friendship eventually blossomed into love. She says, “And there’s been no looking back since (smiles). After our families met recently and gave us their blessings, we made our relationship Insta official. The roka ceremony took place in August. We have a surprise proposal in the works. Although I am not supposed to know about it, I have an idea as we needed our parents’ approval. We will have a small engagement ceremony on our big day.”
Their similar personalities and shared interests acted as catalysts in bringing them closer. Neha, who has been part of shows like Qubool Hai, Ishqbaaaz, and Dil Bole Oberoi, shares, “We share a love for dancing and singing. He is caring and loving. My world revolves around him. I am my authentic self with him and have fallen in love with myself more because of him. I feel like my young self again – vulnerable and without any filters. He was studying MBA in the US and returned home recently to pursue a career here. I feel he came back for me.”
The actress is currently on a break from work and intends to savour the time leading up to the wedding. “Unless something compelling comes my way, I want to enjoy the time as girlfriend and boyfriend before we move on to becoming spouses,” she concludes.
On the work front, Nehalaxmi has been part of several shows, including Banegi Apni Baat, Na Aana Is Des Laado, Krishnaben Khakhrawala, Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan, Qubool Hai, Sasural Simar Ka, Ishqbaaaz, Dil Boley Oberoi, and Bhalla Calling Bhalla. Interestingly, her Ishqbaaaz co-actor Shrenu Parikh will also tie the knot with Akshay Mhatre in December this year.
