Exclusive - Jaadu Teri Nazar actress Sonyaa Ayoddhya opens up about her clean diet and vegan choices; says 'It helps keep my mind calmer'
With her magnetic screen presence and effortless elegance, Sonyaa Ayoddhya has not only carved a niche for herself on screen but also become a quiet inspiration in the wellness space. Currently seen in Jaadu Teri Nazar Dayan Ka Mausam, Sonyaa is known for portraying emotionally intense and physically demanding characters all while managing long shoot hours, fitness, and a remarkably disciplined lifestyle.
But what truly sets her apart is her holistic approach to health. She doesn’t believe in shortcuts or fleeting trends; her wellness journey is deeply rooted in mindful eating, plant-based choices, inner peace, and skincare rituals that align with the natural rhythm of the body. From waking up at 5 am for meditation to choosing gluten-free, vegan meals even while traveling, Sonyaa lives with intention and it shows.
In an exclusive chat with Times of India, Sonyaa shares, “I follow a mostly gluten-free and vegan diet. Even when I’m traveling for shoots, I try to stick to it. If vegan options aren’t available, I go vegetarian but staying plant-based keeps me feeling lighter and calmer throughout the day.” Her shift to a plant-based lifestyle began for health reasons, but she now sees it as something much deeper. “I truly feel that going vegetarian or vegan helps keep your mind calmer. Honestly, I feel that meat can make you a bit aggressive, and I prefer staying centered and peaceful, especially with the kind of roles I play.”
Long shoot hours can be taxing, but Sonyaa is always prepared. “You’ll always find a protein bar in my bag. It’s my quick fix between shots, and it keeps me from reaching for junk food. I plan my meals and snacks in advance. That helps a lot.”
When it comes to hydration, she sticks to the basics. “I do try different detox drinks from time to time, but nothing beats plain water. I keep sipping all day. It’s the simplest trick but so effective. Hydration really shows on your skin and energy levels.”
Her skin, always glowing, is often the subject of admiration. Sonyaa credits her diet and a minimal skincare routine for this. “A big part of it is my diet. I include lots of antioxidants and protein through natural, plant-based foods. Off-set, I let my skin breathe. I either go makeup-free or just use a tinted moisturizer. Since I wear makeup every day for work, my skin deserves some rest too.”
Clean eating also plays a big role in her mental focus and performance on set. “What you eat reflects how you feel and how you carry yourself. Eating clean gives me clarity and helps me stay focused. It also gives me consistent energy throughout the day without feeling sluggish.”
Despite her busy schedule, there’s one wellness habit Sonyaa never skips meditation. “Yes, I wake up at 5 am every day and meditate. It’s been life-changing for me. Those early morning hours before the world wakes up are magical. If more people knew the power of waking before sunrise, they wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
With discipline, self-awareness, and a strong sense of purpose, Sonyaa Ayoddhya continues to inspire not just with her roles on screen, but with the mindful choices she makes off-screen every day.
