On saying yes to 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 15'
Khatron Ke Khiladi is a show that truly tests who you are as a person. It is not just about doing stunts, it is about finding out your limits, your patience, your fears and your inner strength. That is what attracted me to the show the most. I have always believed that you grow when you step outside your comfort zone and Khatron Ke Khiladi is the perfect example of that. When I got the offer to be on the show, I felt very excited because I knew it is going to be a life-changing experience. I wanted to challenge myself in a different environment and show the audience a side of me they have not seen before. Someone who is fearless, determined, emotional and ready to fight every obstacle with courage. (Photo: Instagram)
Were you always interested in adventure and stunt-based reality shows?
I have always been fascinated by adventure and challenges. In real life I am someone who enjoys trying new things because I feel that experiences make you who you are. I love watching stunt-based reality shows because they are unpredictable and raw. There is no script, no filter. It is just you facing your fears in tough situations. As a viewer I used to admire contestants who would do stunts even when they were scared because that takes courage. Deep down I always wondered how I would react in such situations. So now that I get to experience it, it feels unreal and exciting at the same time. (Photo: Instagram)
On her first reaction when she got the offer for KKK 15
My first reaction was a mix of excitement, disbelief and nervousness. For a few seconds I just kept thinking, “Is this really happening?” Khatron Ke Khiladi is such a respected show so it felt like a very big moment for me. I was excited because I knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime chance but at the same time I also knew how tough it would be. The thought of stunts and unpredictable situations made me nervous but I think that nervousness also motivated me more. I felt that if something scares you, that is exactly what you should try. On preparing physically and mentally for the challenges
I have started preparing myself seriously because Khatron Ke Khiladi is not a show where you can just depend on confidence. Physically I am focusing a lot on strength training, stamina, endurance, flexibility and overall fitness. I am working on improving my body balance and energy levels because the stunts need both strength and control. Mentally I think preparation is even more important. I have been trying to train my mind to stay calm under pressure because panic can affect your performance badly. I’m preparing myself mentally for the show with meditation, discipline and positive self-talk. I’m also working on being emotionally strong. I know there will be times when fear might get the best of me but I want to train myself to be calm and focused even when the going gets tough. (Photo: Instagram)
Most scary stunt?
I think I'm going to face difficulty while performing stunts that involve heights. It would be the most difficult for me because they trigger fear very quickly. Even the thought of hanging from a height or doing something at a high level sounds terrifying. Apart from that, stunts with insects, reptiles or creepy creatures would also test me emotionally because those fears are very natural and hard to control. But I believe the whole idea of Khatron Ke Khiladi is to face your biggest fears. So even if I am scared, I would still want to push myself and try those stunts because overcoming fear gives you a different kind of confidence. (Photo: Instagram)
On dealing with fear in real life?
In life I try not to run away from fear because avoiding it only makes it stronger. Whenever I feel scared or very emotional, I first try to calm down myself and understand the situation. I try not to react immediately. I believe fear is a feeling but courage is about moving forward despite being afraid. Life itself teaches you how to become mentally strong through experiences. Every challenge I have faced personally has made me stronger emotionally. I think that mindset will help me a lot on Khatron Ke Khiladi. (Photo: Instagram)
Since this season may have both old and new contestants, do you feel extra pressure?
There is definitely pressure because experienced contestants already know how the show works. They understand the game better. At the same time I believe every contestant enters with their own strengths and personality. I do not want to compare my journey with anyone because everyone’s fears and struggles are different. For me the biggest competition will be with myself, pushing beyond my limits every single day. I think pressure can either break you or motivate you and I want to use it as motivation to perform better. (Photo: Instagram)
Reuniting with Gaurav Khanna from Bigg Boss 19 on KKK
I am really happy that Gaurav Khanna is also a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi because sharing this journey with someone you already know brings a sense of comfort and positivity. We share a warm and respectful bond so it will definitely feel nice to have a familiar face around during such an intense competition. At the same time I know he is extremely focused, mentally strong and competitive so I think he will be a very strong contestant this season. That is the beauty of Khatron Ke Khiladi. Even if you share a bond with someone, once the task begins everyone is competing to prove themselves. I am excited to see both of us challenging ourselves and growing through this experience together. (Photo: Instagram)
