Exclusive: ‘Naagin 5’ will go off air in February; Ekta Kapoor’s new show on vampires likely to replace it

', which went on air in August 2020, is all set to wrap up in February 2021.

A source said, “Naagin 5' will go off air in February after a six-month run. The date is not yet final. The team is already aware of the development. The last episode will be shot by the end of this month.”

5' got viewers' attention initially because of the sparkling chemistry of the two actors Sharad Malhotra and Surbhi Chandna. It was refreshing to see Sharad play the quintessential bad boy Veeranshu Singhania in the beginning and then the metrosexual man who is powerful, handsome and protective about his wife Bani.

Surbhi Chandna, who transformed herself to play a naagin on the show, enacted the role of Aadinaagin. In an earlier interview with BT, Surbhi had said, “It’s a huge responsibility to play naagin. Also, it is human nature to draw comparisons, especially for a show that has completed four seasons. So, when they approached me, I was apprehensive if people would accept me. I even confessed my nervousness to producer Ekta Kapoor, but she said, ‘You will rock it’. Her confidence in me pushed me to accept the role and work ten times hard.”

Meanwhile, there is buzz that Ekta Kapoor’s new show on vampires will replace ‘Naagin 5’. This is for the second time Ekta Kapoor will bring a show based on vampires after 'Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani'. Vivian Dsena played the lead role in the show playing a vampire.
