Exclusive - Navina Wadekar aka Bawri on joining Taarak Mehta, her bond with Tanmay and her parent's reaction
One of the longest running and most loved shows of Indian Television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah recently witnessed the return of Bawri. Her return has brought happiness in Bagga's aka Tanmay Vekaria's life. The role is now played by Navina Wadekar. Tanmay Vekaria and Navina spoke exclusively to ETimes TV about their bond, experience while working together and Navina's first day on the sets. Navina on bagging Bawri's role
This role came to me all of a sudden and I was not expecting it. When the offer came to me and I was called for an audition, I was nervous whether I’ll get the part or not but with God’s grace I got the show. I am excited to be a part of the show and the team. (Photo: Instagram)
Tanmay: Nattu Kaka, Bawri and Baaga’s trio is a hit
It is amazing and feels nice that Bawri’s character is back on the show and back with a bang. People have appreciated the character a lot in terms of her interaction with Baaga and Nattu Kaka and Jethalal. Nattu Kaka, Bawri and Baaga’s trio is a hit and Jethalal’s addition to the trio is also a treat to watch. Navina is doing a great job and it is really surprising to see an actor forming such a great bond with the team in such a short span of time. More than scared, I was excited to be a part of the show because Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah marks my big break in the TV industry. I am happy to be associated with the show. I was scared about only one thing and that was playing the role of Bawri only because it is very different from my personality. But at the same time I was excited because this is a big show and has been running successfully for so many years. As Navina shared it is not an easy thing for an actor to join a popular ongoing show mid-way where everything is set and established. It is a challenge but for us it has now become a second home after working for such a long period. Also our producer Asit Bhai had called me and asked to be cooperative and understanding and everyone knows Taarak team is like family and we all help each other. We never make anyone feel uncomfortable. When I did the mock shoot with Bawri, I was very sure she will be finalised because I could see similarities in her. My family is very excited. My mom is here on the sets and she is so happy, proud and excited that I am associated with such an iconic show. My father is equally proud. My entire family was actually surprised when I bagged the role and they are actually unable to believe that I have got into the character so smoothly. They are very happy for me. (Photo: Instagram)
