Exclusive - Prince Narula on Roadies season 19, missing Rannvijay & more

Prince Narula, who made it big in the industry after winning the stunt-based youth reality show, Roadies, is returning as one of the Gang leaders. The reality star is making a comeback after a year with Roadies season 19. He recently joined ETimes TV for an exclusive conversation where he opened up about missing Rannvijay Singh and Neha Dhupia, staying away from fiction shows and following his passion for music. During the interview, he revealed he started watching Roadies for Rannvijay and not for Raghu-Rajiv. (Photo: Instagram)

Missing Rannvijay on Roadies - For me Roadies is equal to Rannvijay

I've missed Rannvijay bhai on Roadies a lot. For me Roadies means Rannvijay. I have seen the show only for him. I am sorry to say this, but I did not see the show for Raghu-Rajiv, I respect them and they were the soul of the show, but I saw the show only for Rannvijay bhai. Mere liye Woh sab kuch hain. But we both say this one thing that it doesn’t matter, the show must go on. This year, I was called for Roadies, you never know in the coming years, we might come together or there will be completely new faces. Kya hota hai Na changes humesha hote hain... show mein. The team tries different concepts to make the show interesting. I’ll say this again, this show is bigger than us and log Badalte rahenge, show chalta rahega. (Photo: Instagram)

Did you speak to Rannvijay after singing Roadies?

Yes, he’s busy with other shows and we spoke to each other when I signed Roadies. Obviously, it is one of his best shows, so he also misses it. But everyone has their own commitments. When he got to know that I am doing the show, he wished me all the best and told me “Mujhe pata hai Tu phad dega”. (Photo: Instagram)

Missing Neha Dhupia and his competition with her

Yes, I miss Neha and my banter. Neha and I are very mature people. We would fight on the show and when we were on field we would behave as if we didn't know each other. We would behave like competitors and just focus on our teams. During the heat of the moment we would say a few things to each other, but once we were out we would leave everything there. Outside we would be back to Neha and Prince, sister and brother. We would handle everything very maturely and not discuss the show. (Photo: Instagram)

Prince on Roadies auditions

The auditions are going amazing and we have got an amazing response from the youngsters. The craze for Roadies grows with each year and it is getting better. I am excited to see the final contestants who will join us on the show. We recently went to Chandigarh and we got an amazing response there. I am very happy that the impact of Roadies is still alive on the youth. (Photo: Instagram)

Roadies helps people like us who don’t have Godfather in the industry

Whenever I go out for work or travel to work for different places, people love for different reasons. When I meet the age group of 40, they tell me they have auditioned for the show, people from 30 and 20 age group also tell me the same thing. In fact, kids around 10 tell me they want to give auditions for Roadies when they grow up. All these generations have watched the show and they are loving it. The show is for people like us, common man, who doesn’t have Godfather in the industry. Roadies give that chance to come ahead in the industry. (Photo: Instagram)

Why have you been staying away from fiction shows?

Not many people know this but my main aim is singing. I’ve been doing this since childhood but people always felt I only acted in the songs and I am a model. Also when I was working for 14 hours in the television industry, I was not getting time for anything else, even for my singing. I was not able to explore or experiment. This is my age to experiment and acting doesn’t have any age, I can do that even after 5 years. But if I want to explore other avenues that this is the right age. (Photo: Instagram)

I stayed away from acting for 2 years

I stayed away from acting to change people's perception about me. I stayed away from it for 2 years because I wanted people to ask me where were you? Why are you not acting anymore? I left so many shows, in fact, they still offer me daily soaps but I turn them down. I started my own label and came up with a song, which will cross 100 million soon. So, now people have started acknowledging me as a singer. (Photo: Instagram)

Singing is my passion and acting I feel I can do whenever I want to

I am coming up with some big collaborations, I’ll be going on a world tour soon, so I am just living my dream. All this is bigger than acting for me. Singing is my passion and acting I feel I can do whenever I want to. If I want to act, I can make a film for myself (smiles). (Photo: Instagram)

Agar Mujhe Sirf paisa Kamana hota toh I would have kept doing daily soaps

My dream was never to earn money. Agar Mujhe Sirf paisa Kamana hota toh I would have kept doing daily soaps. But I wanted to fulfill my dream and for that sometimes you have to let go of a few things. You have given up on greed of money to follow your passion. Agar Mujhe paise he kamane hote toh I would have done daily soaps back to back and paise chaap raha hota. I don’t hire a publicist or attend award functions, because I feel if people have to watch me they will because of my talent. (Photo: Instagram)
